T5W: Books I Want to Finally Read in 2017

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be participating in Top 5 Wedensday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. Lainey from Gingerreadslainey is the founder of Top 5 Wednesday.

This week we are featuring the top five books we want to finally read this upcoming year. This isn't upcoming releases, but those that I have meant to read for a year or more.

5.) Dissonance by Erica O'Rourke
This has been sitting on my shelf for almost two years now. I bought it way back in my first Book Outlet order, and I just haven't gotten around to it. I don't actually know what it is about, and I've seen conflicting reviews for it. Nevertheless, I want to read it and see what I think about it!

4.) The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
I got The Forbidden Wish earlier this year and I just haven't had the urge to pick it up yet. I've always wanted to read a book by Jessica Khoury, so I'll for sure get to this book by the end of 2017.

3.) The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
Okay this is basically unacceptable that I haven't read The Winner's Crime! The Winner's Curse, the first book in the series, was literally my favorite book of the year when I read it. At least now I can binge read the second and third book and finish the series!

2.) The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey
I want to read this for the sake of seeing what I think of it. The Fifth Wave is a staple in the YA community. I have seen the movie, and now I want to compare the two in 2017!

1.) Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass
Talking about staples in the YA community, Throne of Glass is a big one. In fact, I think Maas herself is a staple. I've read ACOTAR, but I haven't read anything else by her. Here's hoping I will actually read Throne of Glass instead of saying I'll read it.

What five books do you want to finally read in 2017?

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

  1. I have yet to read the final book in the 5th Wave trilogy. Why I'm delaying it? I have no idea. lol. I really, really want to read the Winner's series but every time I see it on the bookstore, I find something else I'm more excited about. ugh.

I hope you get around these books in 2017, Genni! :)

  3. Hope you get to all of these! I read Throne of Glass a few months ago, and while l liked it, I didn't love it. I've also just borrowed The 5th Wave from the library, so I'll be reading that these holidays.

    1. Thanks! I actually started reading Throne of Glass a couple months ago, but only got to around 30 pages or so. It didn't grab my attention enough at the time. I hope you like The 5th Wave!

  5. I've only read Throne of Glass and I really liked it - I should continue the series along with Rutkoski's series. :)

  7. I love that I've read most of these. :D Dissonance (and Resonance) is SO good! Same with The Forbidden Wish. I love the Winner's trilogy. I'm in the minority but I'm not a fan of Maas's books. ;) I hope you read/enjoy all of these, Genni!

    1. That's so good to hear (except for Maas, that is)! I own Dissonance and The Forbidden Rush, so there is nothing to stop me from reading them! I did like ACOTAR by Maas, but I haven't read anything else by her. Thanks Alyssa!

  8. Great choices! I just finished reading The Forbidden Wish a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! The Winner's Crime is a bit angsty, but worth the read so you can read the Winner's Kiss!! Throne of Glass is a pretty epic series too. Hope you enjoy them all!
