Waiting on Wednesday #69

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be participating in Waiting on Wednesday, and meme originally created by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. Jill hasn't been active for a while, so Tressa @ Wishful Endings has adopted it! If you see posts by the name of "Can't Wait Wednesday," it's the same thing!

The book I'm looking forward to this week is My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton!

You may think you know the story. After a miserable childhood, penniless orphan Jane Eyre embarks on a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester. Despite their significant age gap (!) and his uneven temper (!!), they fall in love—and, Reader, she marries him. (!!!)

Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Brontë, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.

Here are some stats about the book:
Genre - YA Historical Fiction
Release Date - June 26, 2018
Publisher - Harper Teen
Pages - 464
Why I'm Waiting
I just finished the audiobook of My Lady Jane, by the same authors, this Sunday! I absolutely loved the style, humor, and plot of it. Even though My Plain Jane focuses on another Jane (this time, Jane Eyre) I am very excited. This trio of authors do a great job working together, and I'm sure that this will be great as well.

Are you looking forward to My Plain Jane?

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

  8. I have been hearing so much about My Lady Jane, and I cannot wait to get a hold of that one already. It does sound like a fun take on history. I am a little intimidated by the hype, but so far people tend to have good taste in things. I'll be thrilled to read the Jane Eyre one, because Jane Eyre is a sad story that could use a little humor.

    1. To be honest, I was intimidated by the hype as well. I think that's why I picked up the audiobook. I tend to make my decisions on whether I should continue or stop reading quicker when I'm listening to a book rather than reading it.

    1. I hope you love it Sara! I've read books by both Cynthia Hand and Brodi Ashton, but not from Jodi Meadows! Considering that I enjoyed the other author's books though, I'll have to pick up something by her soon. :)
