Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I am doing an impromptu cover talk!
So I was just perusing goodreads when all of a sudden I saw these new covers from the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. We all know these covers are bad. The first editions are pretty cheesy, and the second ones didn't really change anything. However these covers.... they are pretty standard in all the right ways!
They're eye catching and simple. I like how it is obvious they are all part of the same series, but they don't look too alike. For me, that was the issue with the second editions because you couldn't tell the difference among them.

I like the symbols for each book and while I have only read four of the six, I think they accurately represent the novels! My favorite of the six are definitely Last Sacrifice, the last book, and Blood Promise, the fourth. They're both very eye-catching for different reason, but the the details of these two seem a step up from the other four. The details don't make it seem too busy, though. I appreciate how they look simple and clean cut.

My least favorite has to be Shadow Kiss just because it looks the cheesiest. It seems more like a romance novel than the kick-ass one I know it is. However, the details in the lips are really great! My least favorite aspect of these covers is the blood drip that is featured in the top left corner of each of the books. I don't know if I would feel differently if I saw it in person, but seems as if it takes away from its modern style. All in all, I really like the cover change. They finally represent the books!
What are your thoughts on the Vampire Academy series? Which of the new covers are your favorites?
Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!
Happy Reading!
