Sci Fi Month 2016 | Second Time's the Charm!

Hey everyone! If you didn't know, last year I participated in Sci Fi Month! It is hosted by Rinn @ Rinn Reads and Lisa @ Over the Effing Rainbow! I was kind of a mess last year. I had recently started my blog, and I didn't really know what I was doing. I have hopes that this year will be much better!
Throughout the month, I'll be doing sci-fi related posts! However, this does not mean that all my posts will be science fiction based. I'll keep doing my regular ones as well. The majority will also be young adult science fiction as well. So for all you non-sci fi fans, rest easy! Also, tell me why you don't like science fiction!

I don't have too much planned, but I know I'll be doing some lists,movie/book reviews, recommendations, etc. I also don't have a set TBR. I'm horrible at sticking to TBRs (I'm a mood reader through and through!), but I'll try for this one!

Here is my TBR for Sci-fi Month!

Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
This is definitely my most anticipated book I'm going to be reading for SciFi Month! Illuminae was one of my favorite books last year, and I'm hoping that I'll enjoy Gemina just as much!

Mila 2.0 by Debra Diza
I picked this one up on a whim just the other day through Overdrive. Mila 2.0 is pretty popular, but all I know about it is that Mila is actually a cyborg. She wasn't supposed to know, but once she finds out I assume everything goes to shit.

Flashfall by Jenny Moyer
Flashfall goes out in stores halfway through the month, so I don't know if I'll be able to actually read it. However, I really want to! I've heard so much buzz about Flashfall, and I hope I'm able to get to it

United by Melissa Landers
United is the conclusion to Landers' science fiction series that started off with Alienated. The last book had an open-ended ending, and I can't wait to finish this series! Fingers crossed I'll be able to get to this!

Those are the books I'm planning on reading! If you have read any of these, let me know what you thought! I would love to see some of the other TBRs for Sci-fi month, so if you have one, be free to share! This year I want to expand my science fiction out of YA, but I don't know if I'll have time to do so in November. I have college applications and three AP classes, and senior year...ugh. It's a lot right now.

Anyways, Happy November!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

  1. I'm looking forward to Gemina as well! And Mila 2.0 sounds good- I like android/ cyborgs type stories. :) Flashfall I don't know too much about, but the cover looks good. Hope you have a great SciFi month!

    1. Are you planning on reading it this month? I haven't read too many books about android/cyborgs, but I've enjoyed the ones I have. To be honest, I don't know too much about Flashfall, but some of my most trusted blogger-friends adored it! You too Greg!

  2. Glad to see you back for a second year, Genni :) I've not read any of these, but I have read Illuminae which I thought was a pretty clever book, so I'm definitely hoping to read Gemina at some point.

  3. I love sci-fi! I actually do a monthly feature called "Science in Fiction", in which I feature a YA sci-fi book and a topic related to it. So I am ALL about this idea. I loved Gemina and Flashfall (Flashfall especially), and I've enjoyed Melissa Landers' books immensely.

I look forward to seeing your posts, Gennifer! =)
