Clean Sweep ARC Challenge!

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog!! Today I'll be talking about an ARC Challenge I made the decision to participate in today. I have a pretty big ARC pile that I've amassed over the past year or so, and I want to make a dent! This challenge seems perfect for doing just that. 

Here are the rules and other tidbits of info :

• ARCs must be read in the month of May
• ARCs can be in any format!
• Post a start up post
• You don't have to review the book, but just have a link to goodreads showing the dates read and a two sentence review.

• Twitter party using #cleansweeparc on May 18th at 7:30 PM (EST)
• Post your results!

I also want to give a shoutout to czai over at The Blacksheep Reader! I always seem to find and learn about readathons from them, and that is where I learned about this one! Thanks czai. :)  

Without further ado, here is my TBR for the Clean Sweep Arc Challenge!

1) Weregirl by C.D. Bell
I cannot remember the last time I have read a book about werewolves. In fact, I don't think I have ever read a book solely focused on werewolves since Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver series. This might not be the "best thing ever" but I am ready to have some fun and read about some werewolves.

2) Royce Rolls by Margaret Stohl
Royce Rolls seems like a blast! The book follows Bentley Royce, one (fifth?) of her family's reality tv show, which is the equivalent of Keeping up with the Kardashians. Bentley is ready to live her life, but decides to save the reality show she despises in order to keep her family together. This is described as a "laugh out loud funny romp" and it better deliver!

3) The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid
I think this is the ARC I am by far looking forward to the most! Everyone seems to love this book, including blogger friends and real life friends. I need to read this book ASAP, as I'm sure I will love it. Let's hope this sci fi doesn't disappoint!  

4) Hello, Sunshine by Leila Howland
Hello, Sunshine is about Becca after she is rejected from every college she applied to. Looking for a fresh start, she goes to LA in order to pursue an acting career. I'm not completely invested in reading this, but I'm a intrigued. Now that I've actually committed to a college, I don't think that the book will hit too close to home for me.
5) Two Summers by Aimee Friedman
With summer fast approaching (yay!) I am in the perfect mood for this book. From what I remember, this book follows a girl whose summer is told in two different perspectives. Basically there are two ways this girl's summer could have gone, and we follow both of them. One is in France and the other one is at her home.

So five books is actually pretty big for me when it comes to TBRs, because I rarely stick to them. I'm a massive mood reader, but I am determined to read these! I'm planning on reading five different books other than these in May; I hope I get to all of them!

Chicken Challenge Wrap Up!

TBR Jar for 2016!

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be showing you my TBR jar for 2016! This is going to be a fun, no pressure challenge for myself that will hopefully cut down on the amount of unread books I have on my shelves!

If you don't know what a TBR jar is, it is basically a jar filled with the names of the book you own but still not have read. TBR stands for to be read. I have never done a TBR jar, but decided it might be a fun challenge for me this upcoming year. I definitely have more books on my shelf I haven't read than I'd like to admit. Granted, I have a lot more read books than unread, so I am happy about that!

In total, there are 46 books I have not read on the shelves in my room. This isn't counting the books I will be receiving around Christmas. If I were to finish the jar, I would have to read about 4 books a month from it. Though I always read more than four books a month, I don't want to force myself into reading something I don't feel like reading at the time. That's why I'll be picking out four, and reading at least one and up to all of them per month. This way, I'm not feeling any sort of pressure!

The way I'm doing this means that I probably won't be reading every single book in this jar, and I'm fine with that. I frankly don't mind having unread books on my shelf as long as I know that I will read them. However, there are a lot of books that are sequels, so I know that if I don't like the first or second book once I read it, then I'll be taking out the names of all the books in the series. My goal is to at least have 25 or less names in the jar by the end of the year. All around are pictures of my jar. Then again, it isn't really a jar and more like an elephant shaped cup. :D Elephants are one of my favorite animals and nothing was in this cup, so I couldn't resist!
