TTT: I'm Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017

Hey everyone and welcome back to blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be participating in Top Ten Tuesday. This weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and Bookish. This week our topic is "Top Ten Books I'm Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017."

I'm interpreting this as 10 books that I plan to read in the first half of 2017 that are going to be 2017 releases. If you want to check out a list of books that I want to read this upcoming year that are already published, go over here!

There are a ton of books that I am looking forward to this year, and this is only a handful of them! This is in order of publication date.

10.) Frostblood by Elly Blake
Publication Date: January 10
Frostblood is a the first book in a new YA fantasy series that follows Ruby, a fireblood, in a world in which cold reigns supreme. The synopsis also mentions that Ruby is taken to fight against frostbloods in the king's tournaments. While the plot seems run of the mill, the book has been getting good reviews! I have high expectations.

9.) Poison's Kiss by Breeana Shields
Publication Date: January 10
I've been hearing about Poison's Kiss for months. The idea is the the main character can kill with one kiss and is used by the kingdom as a weapon. I am a sucker for political intrigue, and this sounds right up my ally. Plus, imagine all that angst when the main character can't kiss her love interest! Sign me up!

8.) The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
Publication Date: January 31
The Edge of Everything seems to have it all. A great cover, a revenge plot, a strong family relationship, and a bounty hunter from Hell. If that doesn't draw a person in, then I need to rethink my assumptions about the YA community! :)

7.) Returned by Kimberley Griffiths Little
Publication Date: February 7
Returned is the final book in Little's Forbidden trilogy, which I started this year. I just got the second book through a Book Outlet purchase, and I can't wait to read it! I might just read it before the year ends. Forbidden was a great opening novel, and I'm looking forward to continuing and finishing the trilogy

6.) The Wish Granter by C.J.Redwine
Publication Date: February 14
I absolutely adore Redwine's Defiance trilogy! Her writing was captivating, and the main characters were so kick ass. I don't know much about the plot about The Wish Granter, except that it is based off of Rumpelstilskin. Here's hoping that I will love it!

5.) The Valiant by Lesley Livingston
Publication Date: February 14
I don't know much (once again!) about The Valiant, but it keeps grabbing my eye! Based on the cover alone, the main character is pretty awesome. Fallon, the main character, is the daughter of a king. She gets kidnapped and then trained in a school whose patron includes Julius Ceasar. Doesn't that sounds awesome? I'm ready for some great action sequences!

4.) Till Death by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication Date: February 28
Till Death is an upcoming YA thriller by Armentrout. Although I haven't loved all the books I've read by Armentrout, she never fails to entertain me. The only thriller I've read by Armentrout was the one she published via wattpad, so I'm looking forward to delving into the genre again!

3.) Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton
Publication Date: March 7
Rebel of the Sands was one of my favorite debut novels this year. While I'm still bummed from the cover change, I still am eagerly anticipating the sequel. I don't remember the end that much, but I do remember wanting the sequel right away.

2.) Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves
Publication Date: March 28
Yet another book about a rebellion! I just can't help myself. The reviews that are out are all raving, so I'm hoping I'll be part of the bandwagon here. I don't a lot except that Anna, the main character, is only able to break spells in a world of magic. Who doesn't love the classic special snowflake heroine?

1.) Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
Publication Date: April 4
This might quite honestly be my most anticipated book of 2017. I absolutely LOVE Jenny Han. She is my favorite author and has never disappointed me. Lara Jean has really grown on me and I can't wait to see what she's up to now.

What books are you looking forward to?

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

    1. I can see why a person would be cautious! But then again, I was cautious about the second book in the trilogy and loved it, so I hope this will be the same experience! Thanks czai!

    1. Awesome! The premise of Poisons Kiss sounds a bit silly, but I hope it's going to be great. Thanks for visiting Greg!

  9. Great list this week, I have to agree with 10,9,5,3,2 they all look so good! I haven't seen that cover for Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton, I have only seen the purple one. Also I had dismissed The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles as a contemporary but with a bounty hunter from Hell, will have to check that out! The dangers of judging a boo by it's cover!!

    1. Thanks Deborah! I'm pretty sure that the original cover for Traitor to the Throne was the purple one, but they changed it. I'm assuming that they changed the covers to try and appeal to a broader audience. I think a lot of people think that The Edge of Everything is a contemporary, so you're not alone. :D I was surprised when I read the synopsis for the first time.

      Thanks for visiting Deborah!
