Waiting on Wednesday #30

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week I will be participating in Waiting on Wednesday. WoW is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. Every week we showcase upcoming releases that we are excited about. Tressa @ Wishful Endings has recently taken lead in this meme, considering Jill hasn't been posting on for a while. Learn more here!

This week I chose Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger!

Tessa Hart’s world feels very small. Confined to her bedroom with agoraphobia, her one escape is the online fandom for pop sensation Eric Thorn. When he tweets to his fans, it’s like his speaking directly to her…

Eric Thorn is frightened by his obsessive fans. They take their devotion way too far. It doesn’t help that his PR team keeps posting to encourage their fantasies.

When a fellow pop star is murdered at the hands of a fan, Eric knows he has to do something to shatter his online image fast—like take down one of his top Twitter followers. But Eric’s plan to troll @TessaHeartsEric unexpectedly evolves into an online relationship deeper than either could have imagined. And when the two arrange to meet IRL, what should have made for the world’s best episode of Catfish takes a deadly turn…

Told through tweets, direct messages, and police transcripts.

I just finished reading a galley of this book that I received via Net galley (review to come on the release date!) and really enjoyed it. Though the book wasn't without its flaws, I had such a fun time and I'm looking forward to everyone else's thoughts. I'm dipping my toe into the YA thriller sub-genre, and this was a great book to do so! It wasn't necessarily scary per se, but did keep me interested the whole time.

Are you looking forward to Follow Me Back? Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post. :)

Happy Reading!

    1. It might sounds familiar because this was originally written on wattpad. I have gone back though and looked at the wattpad version, and this one is much more polished. :)

      Thanks Alyssa! You too!

  11. OMG, I had NO idea that the YA genre also had thrillers! This one sounds like such a GREAT one, too!! And I like that unusual cover. WOW!!

I had not heard of this author before, so thanks for the heads up!! Although I don't normally read thrillers, I'm sure I'll enjoy this one, so I'm adding it to my TBR!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and commenting on my "Book Blogger Hop" last Friday!! Hope you're having a GREAT Sunday!! <3 :)

    1. Thrillers really don't get a lot of buzz, at least in the YA genre! Normally it's always fantasy or contemporary that's published, which is a shame! I know!! The cover really draws you in. :D

I'm glad I convinced you!! I hope you love it. :)

You're welcome! I hope you have a great Tuesday! :D

  14. Love that cover, has a sinister vibe, and told through police transcripts and tweets etc? Awesome. Also I've been thrillers lately, both YA and non- YA.

  15. I like the formats of transcripts and social media in this story, all around a mystery. And you definitely sound like this was a winner!

    1. It was! It's one of my favorite books of the year. It might not have the best writing or developed characters, but it was such a blast to read! Thanks for stopping by Verushka!
