The book I'm highlighting this week is You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone by Rachel Lynn Solomon!
Eighteen-year-old twins Adina and Tovah have little in common besides their ambitious nature. Viola prodigy Adina yearns to become a soloist—and to convince her music teacher he wants her the way she wants him. Overachiever Tovah awaits her acceptance to Johns Hopkins, the first step on her path toward med school and a career as a surgeon.
But one thing could wreck their carefully planned futures: a genetic test for Huntington’s, a rare degenerative disease that slowly steals control of the body and mind. It’s turned their Israeli mother into a near stranger and fractured the sisters’ own bond in ways they’ll never admit. While Tovah finds comfort in their Jewish religion, Adina rebels against its rules.
When the results come in, one twin tests negative for Huntington’s. The other tests positive.
These opposite outcomes push them farther apart as they wrestle with guilt, betrayal, and the unexpected thrill of first love. How can they repair their relationship, and is it even worth saving?
From debut author Rachel Lynn Solomon comes a luminous, heartbreaking tale of life, death, and the fragile bond between sisters.
Are you looking forward You'l Miss Me When I'm Gone? What are you looking forward to this week?
Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

That's what I thought as well! Yay! :)
DeleteThanks for visiting Jessica!
Oh, wow, this sounds intense! As a twin myself, I can't imagine having to deal with a major difference like that between us.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were a twin! I can't imagine dealing with this with my sister, so making them twins adds a whole other layer!
DeleteWhen I first read the synopsis for this book, I was like "pass", but I started reading reviews, and they sold me on it. I suspect there will be tears, lots of tears, but I am looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I saw this on Netgalley a couple times, and always just looked the other way. But the reviews really sold me on this one. I hope you like it Sam!
DeleteAs soon as I first heard about this book I added it to my wish list. Books about twins always fascinate me; however, I have a feeling this one is going to be very heavy. I guess I'll just have to read some super happy books before and after. Hope you love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm planning on doing as well. If I read heavy books right after each other, I always get down in the dumps. It's amazing that books can make us feel so strongly, but it isn't when I lack energy because I'm so distraught! :D
DeleteThis one is on my TBR pile as well. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like it Kay! Thanks. :)
DeleteThat sounds like a very intense book. The cover is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
