An Impromptu Readathon | My Disney-a-thon TBR!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'm going to be sharing with you my TBR for Disney-a-thon, a readathon I recently found about on twitter. You can go check out all the info here on the profile for the readathon.

Now, if you know anything about me, I suck at TBRs. And normally, that means I suck at readathons. You see, I'm a mood reader. If you don't know what that means, I essentially let the wind take me where it goes. I never have that many plans on what I'll read next. The only time that I actually read books at specific times are when I'm assigned to read them by a certain date, whether that is an ARC I have, or a book for a class.

Despite my failed TBRs of the past, here is mine plan for Disney-a-thon. I took the quiz to find out which team I'm starting wtih, and it looks like it's Team Tangled for me!

Going by the prompts, here are the books I'm reading.

Goodreads

The first book that came to mind for this prompt was The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary. However, when I tried to request it from my local library, I couldn't! Lo and behold, I requested this weeks ago, and it still hasn't come in. Since the book isn't coming in anytime soon, I decided to take a go at Check, Please! by Ngozi Ukazu. All I know about this well-loved graphic novel follows an LGBTQ+ relationship. That's literally all I know, besides the fact that it takes place in university and has a hockey focus, and that's all I need to know.

TBR | ARCtober 2018!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be talking about all the ARCs I'm planning on participating in the ARCtober Reading Challenge. If you want to know more about ARCtober, check out Nancy's (from Tales of the Ravenous Reader) post!

Essentially, the goal of ARCtober is to read ARCs, whether they be old or new.

Here are the ARCs I am planning on reading this month!

ARCs I Have (Top Priority)

Mr. Nice Guy by Jennifer Miller and Jason Feifer

Release Date: October 16, 2018

Mr. Nice Guy is my current ARC right now. If I'm being honest, I am not liking the book that much. But, I am over halfway through, and I want to finish the book. Hopefully the last 40 percent is an improvement!  

Mirage by Somaiya Daud

Release Date: August 28, 2018

I have had the ARC of Mirage for a pretty long time, but never managed to take the time and prioritize the read. I think I am around halfway through the book. So many bloggers raved about Mirage, and though I was enjoying it, I had yet to fall in love with the novel. The plot was just picking up right as I took a break from the book, so I think I will really like the rest!

Hi everyone and welcome back or to my blog! If this is your first time here, yay! Glad you can join in. :) Today I'll be talking about my results for the Reading Quest readathon! There are a ton of rules, so I don't want to get into all of those. So, if you want to learn more about what this whole readathon was about and what my inital TBR was,  check out my initial post here!

So let me preface by saying that I didn't do too well if I went by all the rules. One of the big rules is that you cannot do other main quest squares if you are not done with your first main quest. Well, I completely ignored that! XD I know, I know. But I just wanted to see how much I was reading and how many would be able to fit into the categories.

In the span of the readathon (Aug. 13-Sept. 10), I read 14 books/manga volumes/short stories!

Without further ado, here is how I did in terms of levels, exp, and all that jazz!

#TheReadingQuest Sign Up Post!

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I am doing my sign up post for The Reading Quest! It's a video game inspired reading challenge, and it sounds like a blast! Aentee @ Read at Midnight is hosting, and CW of Read, Think, Ponder did all the artwork! They've worked together to create this wonderful quest, and it starts on the 13th! And yes, that is the day #MakeMeRead finishes, so it is in perfect time!

As you can tell from my character card, I chose the character mage! Down below are all the different quests. As a mage, my quests are the first down column.

I do hope to go on to do other characters and complete side quests, since the readathon lasts until September 10th. I'm not going to give myself a goal or anything though, just so that I don't get disappointed in myself. This readathon coincides with my first month at college ever, so my life will be pretty hectic. Without further ado, here are the books I am planning on reading for the mage!

August 2017 TBR!

Hey everyone welcome back (or to!) my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be doing something just a tad different. If you're new here, you might not be aware that I barely do TBRs. This is mainly because I'm horrible at keeping to them. However, there are a couple of books that I will for sure be reading this August! Here's a look!

First, I'm giving you a friendly reminder to vote for what I read! I'm participating in the Make Me Read It Readathon, and I would love if you voted! It's best to get as much votes as possible. Here is the link to my poll and more info about the readathon!

Based on the poll (so far, that is) here are the books I'll be reading. I gave 8 options and hope to read three. 

1) The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
This was the book with the most votes, but not by far! Wrath and the Dawn got 6 votes, and I'm glad that it is the top choice! I've been reading to read the book basically since it was released, and now the series is over! But it's never too late, and I hope I love it!

2) P.S. I Like You by Kasie West
Now this is the book I am arguably most excited for! I am in a really big contemporary mood right now, and when I got this from the library today it took a lot of willpower to not crack it open right away. I have read two books by West, and I liked one and hated the other. I have a good feeling about this one though!

TBR | Bookentine Edition

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be showing you the books I am planning on reading for Bookentine. Bookentine is hosted by Ely and Michelle from Tea & Tiles.  I first heard about this readathon from czai @ The Blacksheep Reader. If you want to know more about this readathon, check out Ely & Michelle's introduction post! The readathon is from the 13th to 20th. :D

The key component for this readathon is to just read more contemporary around Valentine's. This past year, I pushed contemporary aside for more fantasy books. I want to get back into reading the genre, and this is the perfect way to reintroduce myself.
