Stacking the Shelves #1

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I will be partcipating in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. We share books that we have added to our shelves, both virtual and physical.

I added two books to my shelves today from the library. I checked out The Crown by Kiera Cass and Flawed by Cecelia Ahren. They're both YA, and I have already finished The Crown. I didn't love it, but I'm happy I read it.

In the virtual world, I got two books! Both of these were from Netgalley, so shout out to them! The first one I got was Withering Rose by Kaitlyn Davis. The book is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I had so much fun with it! The other book I got was The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts, which I really enjoyed.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

  1. I stopped after The One because I've heard lackluster things about the last two books. I'm sorry that you didn't love it!

    1. I can see why you did! It's not that I didn't enjoy the story, I just predicted the ending a mile away. It was fun to read though!

  2. I'm not the biggest fan of Cass or her books! I didn't like The Selection much and never continued with the series. Meh. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic week, Gennifer. =)

    1. I can see where you are coming from! The books aren't the best by a long shot, but they do entertain me!

You're welcome! You too, Alyssa! :D

  3. I'm waiting for the Crown at my library (currently 95th in line...sigh...but after hearing all the mixed reviews about it, the wait might actually be a good thing). I've seen Flawed around on the internet, and I'll have to check it out soon!
Great post! It's always great to see what other people have :)

    1. I know how you feel! I was around 100th in line for A Court of Mist and Fury a week or two ago. I think it is a fine book, it just didn't wow me, you know?
      Thanks Erika!

  5. I've read The Crown. I liked it but did not love it. I still think it's better if they had just stopped at Book 3. Anyway, I loved Flawed and hope you'll love it too :)

    1. I completely agree with you. I don't think Eadlyn's story spent enough time with certain suitors. Eadlyn's HEA wasn't as impacting because I didn't feel invested. That is such good news! Have a good week Sya!

  10. I didn't love the Crown either. I found it very forces and predictable, but I loved the other books in the series!

    1. I'm thinking of plunging into Flawed today! Hopefully I'll have a review up at the end of the week. The Replacement Crush is such a fun book! One of my favorite contemporaries of the year!

  12. I hadn't read Dystopian for so long, but I'm curious with Flawed :D And I stopped at the One, because I'm afraid the other books would ruin my love for the series... I hope your next read would be better!

    1. I just started getting back into dystopians, so hopefully Flawed won't disappoint. It takes a bit to get back into the genre. Thanks Tasya! :D

  13. OH that's too bad you didn't enjoy The Crown that well. That series is a guilty pleasure for me, they are certainly not the best books in the world, but I do have a good time reading them. I can't wait to read the Crown :) I hope you'll enjoy Flawed a bit better! :)

    1. I'm exactly the same way. They aren't the best written or original books, but they do keep my attention! Thanks Marie!

  14. I just don't get the hype around the Selection books...although, admittedly I've never read one, but I can't see myself really enjoying it.

I've been seeing Flawed around quite a bit - I hope you end up enjoying it!

    1. I would say they aren't for you. I think the hype is just because the books are fun and entertaining.

      Thanks Lauren!

  15. I've seen Flawed a few times on various peoples blogs and it sounds interesting. I really want to read it.

I also really love the concept of this meme, I think it's great :-).

Look out on my blog next week, I might start participating in it haha!

    1. It does for a lot of people! I understand why Eadlyn is looking at the camera 9it's the only one out of the whole series), but I'm admitting it as well. It's creepy.
