POLL | Make Me Read It Readathon 2018!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be doing a little announcement post for a readathon!

I've participated in the make Me Read It Readathon for two years (I think), and I love it! The readathon is hosted by Val @ The Innocent Smiley and Ely @ Of Wonderland. Here is the low down of the readathon!

Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you've borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I'd pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten.
Make a list of these books on your blog, or make a video, or a Goodreads shelf or post a picture on Instagram—whatever is easiest for you. Then get friends, other bloggers/booktubers/bookstagrammers etc. to vote on which books you HAVE to read.
When the readathon comes along, you read the books in the order of most votes. For example, if one book gets 10 votes—you read that first, then the one that got 7 and so on. If there's a tie, then it's your preference. The goal is to read as many as possible.

The readathon lasts from August 6 to the 13th, which is a week. I'll be pretty busy during that week, as it is the week before I move into my university for the new semester! Because of this, and the fact that I'm a notorious mood reader, you'll be voting on five different books I own! My goal is to read 3 of them.

Now, for the fun part!! Vote for which book you want to see me read in August! I've tried to pick some pretty popular books or authors, so I hope we get some good results.

Pick a Book!

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase) by Rick Riordan
The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey
Compulsion by Martina Boone
Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis

I hope I enjoy whatever books wins! I'll start with the book that gets the most votes, and go down the list from there. I do have some that I want to read more than others, but I think I'll enjoy all these books if I go in with the right mindset! I'll try not to DNF a book, but I will if I'm hating it! I want to make sure I'm having fun with this readathon and not forcing myself to read something. If I do, I know I won't be an active participant.

If you want to follow all my thoughts while reading these books, follow me on twitter! I just made a new profile specifically for this blog, so you'll be seeing some greats tweets there! If you want to see other bloggers updates throughout the readathon, the hashtag #MakeMeRead will direct you to any tweets about the readathon!

Thank you so much for stopping by and voting! I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

  7. its so fun to pick reads for others. I think all your books listed are great choices. I love read a thons, the only ones I really participate it is Dewey's. I read all day everyday with audio so the ones that last a week I don't find have me doing anything that is stretch for me. this one does sound fun though. have lots of fun.

    1. It is! I don't participate in a lot of readathons, but because I'm a mood reader and don't do well with TBRs. I also listen to audio, but not as much as you! Plus, I use my library so a lot of the books I want to read aren't available. Thank you Jenn!

  10. I voted for Compulsion, because I that series was solid for me. I adored Red Queen, but it was all downhill after the first book. I struggled through book 2, and just gave up on the series.

    1. Compulsion was the one I was rooting for! Hopefully I’ll get to it within the week. :) That’s what I’ve heard from the series. If I do end up liking Red Queen, I’ll remember to keep my expectations low for the sequels.

Thank you for visiting and voting Sam!
