There are a ton of backlist books I want to read, but here are ten that I am eager to read, in no particular order!
10) Gone by Michael Grant
Michael Grant's seven (?) book long series is so well known in the YA community. As an avid YA reader, I feel like I should give this one a look!
9) Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
I read Butler's Kindred last year, and absolutely loved it. I watched an operatic musical of this book, and thought it was great. So now I just need to actually read the book!
8) Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
I don't know how I did it, but I managed not to be spoiled about this, except for some minor things. I definitely want to read and watch the movie, but this isn't a priority right now. One day!
7) Compulsion by Martina Boone
I put this on every single TBR for challenges, and I never get around to it. I read the first couple chapters a while back and really enjoyed myself, so hopefully I'll get to it soon.
6) The Summer of Jordi Perez (And the Best Burger in Los Angeles) by Amy Spalding
We have a Latina protagonist who is overweight and gay? Umm...yes!!
5) The Defiant by Lesley Livingston
I didn't love The Valiant, which is the first book in the series, but I liked it a lot. I never got around to the sequel, but I'm still interested.
4) The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert
3) Poison's Kiss by Breeana Shields
I didn't hear much hype for Poison's Kiss, but I loved the premise. I'm all for some strained love! When your kiss kills, politics and romance can both get pretty messy.
2) Flashfall by Jenny Moyer
Flashfall is a YA sci fi that got really great reviews. I used to read sci-fi more than I do now, but I really want to get back into the genre!
1) Map of Fates by Maggie Hall
Map of Fates is the sequel to The Conspiracy of Us, which I read a couple of years ago and really enjoyed. And then I didn't read the sequel, and now I'm not too sure if I will even remember anything. Nevertheless, I want to finish the series one day, and that starts with Map of Fates.
And those are ten backlist books I want to read! Do we have any books in common? What are some backlist books you want to read?
Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon!
Happy Reading!

Nice ones! Mostly new to me ones too! Hope you can read these all some day!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks Jessica! I definitely won't have these done by the end of the year, but maybe next!
DeleteThe Coincidence of Coconut Cake is sitting on my shelf, I need to get to that, too! Gone Girl was really good, very twisty!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds super fun, so here's hoping I like it! As for Gone Girl, I love twisty books! I tend to guess plot twists, but I don't think I will with Gone Girl!
DeleteI actually read a bunch of these. Books like Gone Girl are not normally my speed, but that story was crazy, and I loved it. I enjoyed the Poison's Kiss duology. The ending was really beautiful. Jordi Perez was a really cute romance too.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear such favorable feedback! I haven't heard too much about Poison's Kiss, so it's good to know that someone has actually read the series and found it good. :) Thanks so much for visiting Sam!
DeleteI do want to read Gone Girl at some point, just to see if it lives up to the hype for me! Plus it just sounds so dark and twisted lol.
ReplyDeleteThat's my reasoning as well! Haha, it does! The next time I'm in for something dark and twisted, I'll have to pick up Gone Girl. :)
DeleteI read 4 of these. Gone Girl is just all sorts of train wreck, and so entertaining. I liked Poison's Kiss and it's sequel. It incorporated some interesting elements, and ending up being quite heartwarming. Jordi Perez was adorable! And, I am a fan of Compulsion. I still need to read the third book, but I enjoyed the series.
ReplyDeleteOooo Gone Girl is pretty good. I enjoyed the book more than the movie, though, which I guess is often the case!
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well, Genni :)
Who knows when I'm going to get to it! I'll probably end up liking the book more than the movie as well. :)
DeleteI hope you're doing well too Amy! Thanks for visiting. :)
The Summer of Jordi Perez is really cute so I hope you get around to it soon!
ReplyDeleteI have so many backlist books on my TBR, it's ridiculous. One that I really want to get around to is Raven Flight by Juliet Marillier. I re-read the first book in the series last month and it made me want to finally finish it, after having all three books of the trilogy on my shelf for years, haha.
Thanks Chiara!! Good luck with the series! I haven't heard about those books; I'll check them out on goodreads! Thanks for stopping by. :)
