What I'm Currently Reading + Life Update!

Hello friends! Long time, no see! Welcome back (or to) my blog! Since I haven't been here in a hot minute, today's post is just a catch up. :)

To be honest, I've kind of hit a slump with reading and blogging. If y'all don't know, I have basically changed from predominately reading YA to reading adult romance. Since my reading tastes have shifted, I've felt kind of "off" about this blog; I started this when I was 16, and now I'm 20. Obviously in four years, I'm allowed to change, and I want this blog to, as well. So while I'll still be talking about books, the type of books might not be the same. You'll be seeing a lot more romance with some nonfiction and YA sprinkled in there. Also, I want this to be a place where I can express my opinion. I don't want it to always be about books, and while it predominately will be, don't be thrown off with new content!


Besides that lil' blogging update, I've been stuck in the middle of quite a few books. I stopped listening to Beautiful Secret by Christina Lauren just over halfway through. Don't get me wrong, I was really, really enjoying it. CL is one of my favorite authors, and I'm determined to finish up their series this year. I just got way too overwhelmed with life to continue the audiobook at the moment. Plus, another book caught my eye...


And that book is Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl! I've never read anything by Pessl, but damn do I want to rectify that after I complete Neverworld Wake. It's been slow going listening to the audiobook - I only listen to it in the mornings and night when I'm getting ready for school and going to sleep - but it's been capturing me. When my mind wonders, my mind goes back to the book. It's essentially Groundhog Day meets a classic "whodunnit" mystery thriller with a hint of "battle until one survives" feeling. It's good, y'all! I highly recommend!

I've also been reading two other YA books! This is pretty different for me nowadays, since I'm usually reading romance. But since I got a bit of burnout, YA it was. I'm currently reading my advance reader copies of Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett and Permanent Record by Mary H.K. Choi. Both of these were two of my most anticipated releases this year, and I'm liking them so far. But the thing is, I'm not loving them. I don't know where the disconnect is - maybe it's because I'm reading it on my phone, or maybe it's because I have basically no free time whatsoever, so the reading is going very slowly. Either way, I recommend them so far, and I have a feeling I'll be doing the same when I reach the endings of both of them.

Talking about having basically no free time whatsoever, let's get into my life update.

If you didn't know, I'm currently a junior at UNC Chapel Hill. It's an amazing school, but I'm definitely feeling the pressure of being an upperclassmen. as someone who wants to work in publishing as a career, I'm hyper aware that the industry is competitive and that it takes a while to get a job that it self-sustaining. So basically, I'm doing everything to ensure that I will have a job by graduation, or soon thereafter, in publishing!

I'm a full time student living off campus, which is already taking up a ton of my time and energy, but I'm also working part time at a local bookstore as a bookseller. I love the store and get along great with my coworkers, but it's also a job, and takes a lot out of me. When I'm done working a seven hour shift, the last thing I want to do is homework, or clean my dishes, or put up my clothes. But alas, I have to.

Besides work and school, I also have several extracurricular. I'm the president of a student organization on campus, and it's a lot of work! I was the secretary last year, but I didn't realize that here was so much bureaucracy involved in running a student organization. Emails, orientations, delegating tasks, the list goes on.

And besides just that student org, I'm also the editor-in-chief of Her Campus at Chapel Hill, an online magazine written for women by women. As the editor-in-chief, I correspond with headquarters, manage a group of 20 women, schedule articles, apply for partnerships, and also write articles weekly. On a side note, check out my articles!

As you can tell, I've got a lot on my plate. It's a constant balancing act, and while I love this blog and think it's a testament to my hard work and passion, it does tend to get ignored in favor of all my other responsibilities. I don't want to make empty promises and say I'm going to get better, so keep in mind that maybe the most I can do is four posts a month. It'll have to be enough, or else I'm seriously going to have a breakdown. So I hope all of you can still come visit when I do post, and not be disappointed when I don't.

Currently Reading/TBR: A Promise of Fire, The Diabolic

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be showing you the books I am currently reading and planning to read soon!

I just finished A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet this morning, and have already moved on to the sequel, A Breath of Fire. I absolutely loved the first book. Cat, the main protagonist, is such a badass and I loved her POV. I was elated to see that I was approved for the Netgalley of it's sequel. So far, I am only around 10% in A Breath of Fire right now. I like where I think the story is going and I cannot fathom the book hangover I will be in once I finish it. Bouchet's series is my first adult fantasy I've read, and I'm adoring it!


After reading A Breath of Fire, I want to go back and finish Interwined by Gena Showalter. I put it down around 70% last week and just didn't make the final push. I like the story enough, but it is not holding my attention like White Rabbit Chronicles did. I'm essentially having the same issues with Interwined that I did with Firstlife. The characters just aren't dynamic enough for me. 


 I'm also planning to read The Diabolic later this month. I have an ARC of it, and I want to finish it before its November 1st release date. Many of my friends have liked it, so I have high hopes! I don't know too much about it except that it is YA science fiction and has major buzz surrounding it.

Currently Reading/TBR: The Problem with Forever, Pure, Frankenstien

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be talking (writing?) about the books that I am currently reading and what I am planning on reading later this month! 

I'm currently reading two different books by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I have no shame. When I start reading JLA, it is hard for me to stop. Here writing isn't fantastic by any means, but it is addicting. A couple days ago I picked up Pure, the second book in the Covenant series. I am liking it a lot so far (I'm a third of the way through), but the romance between Aiden and Alex is getting on my nerves. I can't wait for the action to pick up. The other Armentrout book I'm reading right now is The Problem With Forever, which is her latest release. I finally gave in and today I went to my Barnes & Nobles and bought it. I'm just over 100 pages in and loving it.

Though I just want to read Armentrout all day long, I do have some required reading I have to do. It is only 12 days until I start my senior yet, and I have yet to read any of the three required readings. Today I am going to start reading Frankenstien. I have heard amazing things from all of you, and I'm just going to force myself to pick it up. I always seem to have a hard time starting a book once it is assigned. That's what I get for being a mood reader!
 
My current audiobook is City of a Thousand Dolls. I hadn't heard too much about the book before I picked it up, but I decided to give it a go! I'm about a third of the way through with this one as well. I did have some trouble getting into the book. My attention always drifted, but it is starting to catch my interest now! I think I'll be done by the end of the week!

Currently Reading/TBR - Red Queen, Kiss of Deception

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be showing you the books I am currently reading and planning to read for the rest of July!

At the time I'm writing this, I am about 30 pages into Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard! I just started this for the Make Me Read It Readathon after finishing November 9 this morning. I'm going to be up late tonight (hence why I'm writing this at 11 pm), so I hope that I can finish a good chunk of it by the time I go to sleep! I've been a bit nervous about reading this just because of all the mixed reviews. It seems as if everyone either loves the book, hates it, or thinks it is mediocre at best.

After the readathon, I am going to get back to listening to Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson! I stopped for the readathon, and then it became overdue and I had to return it. I stopped at a really good time though, so I'm excited to get back into it! I also had to return ACOMAF, so I am re-requesting that so I can hopefully start reading it again by the time July is ending. I am eagerly anticipating Chapter 55! :D

And that is what I am currently reading and planning to read for the rest of July! I'll be happy if I read 8 books. Marching band season starts in a couple days, so that will just take most of my time, and then I also have a class I'm taking during the summer for extra credit. So, I don't have the much time to really read!

Currently Reading/TBR - Withering Rose, Firstlife, Every Falling Star (June 2016)

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be showing you the books I am currently reading and planning on reading for the remainder of the month!

Just an hour ago, I finished Withering Rose by Kaitlyn Davis. Withering Rose is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and the second book in Davis' Once Upon a Curse series. I never read the first book, but they can be read out of order, so it was fine! I received it via Netgalley and was surprised at how much I liked the novel. It had a perfect mix between the classic Beauty and the Beast fairytale and originality. A full review will be up soon! :D

As of now, I don't have a set plan on what I am reading next. I just got Every Falling Star by Sungju Lee on my Kindle app. I haven't read a memoir in a really long time, so I'm hoping that I will like it! The memoir is about Lee's survival and escape from North Korea. There is so much that I don't know about North Korea, and I'm looking forward to having my eyes opened. 

Another book that I'm "currently reading" is Firstlife by Gena Showalter. I put currently reading in quotation marks because even though I did start reading it a week ago, I haven't picked it up since. There are several books that I've picked up and never finished, including And I Darken by Kiersten White. I'm not considering them DNF's because I plan on finishing them, but the books aren't holding my attention enough.

In other news, I'm less behind in my goodreads goal! By the end of my school year I was eight books behind in my goal of 100, and now just a week later I'm only five books behind! I hope I can get back on track or ahead by the end of the summer!

Currently Reading/TBR - And I Darken, The Unexpected Everything (May 2016)

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni and today I'll be showing you the books I am currently reading this month.

As of right now I'm not really into any books. Just a couple minutes ago I finished Storm by Brigid Kemmer. I liked it, but I didn't love it and couldn't connect to any of the characters. The book was a three star read for me. It fell right down the middle and didn't leave a lasting impression.

I am about a tenth of the way through Kiersten White's upcoming YA release And I Darken. I'm liking it so far, but I'm waiting for the story to pick up. Hopefully I will become more interested in the book as the story progresses. And I Darken is a historical fiction where Vladamir is actually a girl. Lada, the main character (aka Vladamir) is a really interesting character. I can't wait to see her become the Vladamir everyone fears!

By the end of the month, I want to be finished with And I Darken and two other novels. I just got The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, and I am so excited! I've loved the two other books that I've read by Matson (Amy & Roger's Epic Detour, Since You've Been Gone), so I have high hopes for this one. I've read five pages or so, and I can't wait until I have more free time.


Last but not least, I want to read The Red Queen this month. I have had it on my shelf for a while, and it's about time that I picked it up. I'm excited to see what the hype is all about, and even though I might not love it, I'll be happy that I gave it a shot. The second book just came out, and I've been hearing better things about the second novel.

Currently Reading: Rebel of the Sands, Clockwork Prince

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni and today I will be showing you guys what I have been reading this April!

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to read (or blog!) due to my hectic schedule. I am actually still reading Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. I did not finish Feuds by Avery Hastings. I wasn't that far into it, and I just put it down because another book caught my eye. I will be planning on finishing it this month though!

Right now, I am around 65% done with Rebel of the Sands and hope to be done with it this week. I've been wanting to finish this for a while now, but I haven't had the time to just sit down and read for a couple of hours. The story really picked up and I just want to read it so badly!

The other book that I am (kind of) currently reading is Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. This is the second book in the Infernal Devices trilogy, and I hope have this read by the end of the week as well. I've been massively spoiled for the series, but I still want to see the how of it all. I just started this on my overdrive app, and I wish that I had a physical copy of it!

Both of these are fantasy novels, but different sub-genres. I've been loving my fantasy recently, but after I am done reading these two and Feuds by Avery Hastings, I think I will be going back to a quick contemporary read. I have my eyes on a couple of books on my shelf, and hopefully one will hold my attention!

So that is what I have been reading! I actually just finished reading Too Late by Colleen Hoover this weekend, and there will be a post about that soon. I am done with my reading slump mentally, but now I just have to find the time to actually read. :D

Currently Reading: Feuds, Rebel of the Sands (March 2016)

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I'm doing my monthly currently reading post! I was supposed to do this earlier this month, but I forgot... Everyone makes mistakes!

So right now I have just picked up Feuds by Avery Hastings. I mean that in the most literal sense; I'm only on page 15! Because of this, I don't really have any grasp or feeling about the book. It did get a bit info-dumpy, but the world is simple enough that I don't think I'd mind it. The novel is pretty small (261 pages), so I'm thinking I'll be done with this by the end of the week, or possibly sooner if I get really into it!

After that, I am going to be picking up Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. I've been dying to pick this up and considering that my spring break starts on Friday, (YAY!) I know I'll be reading this one. In fact, I actually just met Alwyn this past Sunday, and it pushed me to read the book even more. I'll be making a post about that and putting it out there soon!


After those two, I don't really know what will happen. I'm looking for a light, easy read that would be perfect for spring break. Clockwork Prince definitely isn't that, but I did pick it up a couple days ago and haven't opened it since, so I might be revisiting that. There's also a good possibility of me reading the last book in The 100 trilogy, because I have that on my phone.

Besides that, I don't have much going on! I'm planning on doing a whole lot of reading, sleeping, and Netflix-ing this spring break. I haven't had a solid amount of relaxation for a while, so that's what I am really looking forward to.

Currently Reading - Day 21, DIMILY (February 2016)

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be doing my monthly Currently Reading post. 

Right now I am reading 2 different books. I actually just finished reading two books yesterday, so these are really recent reads for me and I have not been able to get a feel for it yet. The first book that I am reading is Day 21. You might be unfamiliar with the title, but I know you recognize this cover! Day 21 is actually the second book of The 100 series  by Kass Morgan. I heard that Bellarke was canon in the series (unlike the TV show), and I am not ashamed to say that is the reason why I picked this book up. Yesterday I finished the first book, and I generally liked it! I'll be doing a series review once I finish this book and then Homecoming, the third and final one. Stay tuned!

Another book that I recently picked up was Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame. I actually have only read a couple pages of this, but I am thinking of getting into it tonight. I've heard amazing things about it, so hopefully I will not be disappointed! The novel follows Eden Munro as she stays with her estranged father for a summer. He has married another women who has three children, and lo and behold, Eden falls for one of her stepbrothers. Now who doesn't love that classic trope?


If I do not pick up Did I Mention I Love You? (which I would be surprised about), I'll be hopefully reading The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan. The Sword of Summer is the first book in Rick Riordan's new series following the Gods of Asgard. I don't know anything about Asgard gods except for Thor and Loki, so I am interested to see what I learn!

Currently Reading/TBR: The Rose Society, Stop!, Half-Blood

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni and today I'll be showing you all what I am currently reading and what I am planning to read next.

As of right now, I just started two books: The Rose Society by Marie Lu and Stop! by Alison G. Bailey. These two could not be more different. The Rose Society, as I'm sure you know, is the sequel to The Young Elites. Stop! is a contemporary novel that is following a young woman and her first year in college. 

While the books definitely have a different feel, I'm getting really interested in each of them! I haven't read a lot of contemporary recently, and I've been feeling the need to get back into the genre. The Rose Society is a fantasy novel that has a heroic villain of sorts as the lead. Adelina, the main character, isn't good news and her enemies know it! I'm excited to see how the story progresses and Adelina evolves into a darker, stronger, scarier characters. Hollis Murphy, the main character in Stop!, is on the other side of the spectrum from Adelina. After surviving an accident that left her severely burned and almost dead, Hollis is a very insecure and unstable girl. She is not confident in herself as of the exposition. Once again, I'm excited to see her character develop into a strong young woman. 

After those two, I don't necessarily know what I want to read. I did say I wanted to read The Winner's Crime, but I don't want to force myself into reading the book. If I do, I know that I will not like it or appreciate it as much as I would just reading it on my own time. I recently just bought Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I can't get enough of her! Her books are the equivalent of what crack is for drugs. They are addicting and give me an amazing high. I can't get enough of it!


If I don't read Half-Blood, I will be reading The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey. I planned on reading it in January, and I have a couple days left to fulfill that! The movie just came out (today actually!) and I want to read the book right before I see the movie so it is fresh on my mind. That way, I can give a review that is able to pinpoint the differences!

Currently Reading #6!

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni and today I'll be showing you guys what I am currently reading. One novel is an urban young adult fantasy while the other is a contemporary new adult novel.


The new adult I am reading right now isn't as well known compared to my other current read. It is a new adult contemporary romance titled Breathe Into Me and is by Sarah Fawkes. The story revolves around Lacy St. Clair, and her life as it is spilling out of control. All the while, Lacy starts spending time with mysterious boy Everette. He seems to respect her and not only want her for sex, which rarely occurs for her because of her horrible reputation around town. I'm almost done with this book, and it is looking to be a four star read for me. I actually stopped reading so that I could do this post! :D Yes, I do have small problems with inconsistencies in the book, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I love Lacy and Everette together and can't wait to see how the last 30 pages resolves. It isn't necessarily out of the box and life changing, but it is super fun. If you are looking for a quick paced drama filled new adult novel that doesn't make you think too hard, then read this! I'm sure you'll have fun!

The urban fantasy I'm talking about is none other than City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. This is the fourth installment of the Mortal Instruments Series and the fifth novel of Clare's that I have read. I am reading her books in publication order, so next up after this one is the second book in The Infernal Devices trilogy, which began with Clockwork Angel. I was a bit disappointed with the book, but you can find my full thoughts here on my review! I'm just a bit less than a fourth way through right now and I am really liking it so far! What have you guys thought about City of Fallen Angels?

Currently Reading #5!

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I'm going to update you on what I've been reading.


As of right now, I'm reading three different books! This normally never happens. I usually stick to one book and then move right on to the other. This is probably why I haven't finished as much books and I usually have this time of the month. I don't feel a reading slump coming on, so that's good!

Winter is the one of the three books I'm reading right now and I'm adoring it! I just reached page 660 out of 824, which is 80 percent of the way through. I'm so close to the end and I can't wait to see how it wraps up! By Monday, I want this book read. Everything is coming to its climax, and I know the end is going to be amazing. This book is already spectacular. There are so many plots and sub plots that have to be resolved, so I'm glad Meyer didn't try to rush it and make the book any smaller than it is.

The other book that I have been focusing on is Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins. This novel is the fourth book in the series. Sweet Temptation actually recaps the first three books but in Kai's point of view and not Anna's. I'm really liking it so far. Yes, the book is not perfect, but it's a really substantial novel.Since Sweet Temptation is basically an overview of the three novels, I already know what is going to happen next. However, I really love reading from Kai's POV because it really clears up a lot from the series. I'm reading this through my online library on Overdrive, so I don't know what actual page I am on. All I know is that I'm also 80 percent done with this one as well. Once again, I'm hoping to finish it by Monday as well.

The final book I've been reading has been on the back burner. I kind of stopped reading it once I got my hands on Winter. The Dawn on the Dreamer by L.J. Higgins is a solid book. While it's not the best thing I've ever read, I love the premise of it. If you haven't heard of the book, Dawn of the Dreamer is actually a dystopian read that follows a girl throughout the corrupt society. In this world, dreaming is prohibited and controlled by a device implemented in everyone's body. This contraption doesn't work on our main character, Amelia, and she is studied by the government as to why. You can find it's goodreads page here. I'm just going to read this at my own pace and see where it takes me, so I don't really have a time that I am aiming to be finished by.

Currently Reading #4!

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Today I'm going to be talking and what I'm reading and soon going to be this week!

Right now I am reading White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This novel is the first in the Dark Elements trilogy and I am really liking it so far! I'm a bit more than halfway through, and I already like this first novel just as much as the third in the Lux series. The Lux series is Armentrout's most well known series. While I liked the first book, the sequels improved after every single book and I can truly say that I loved the series when I finished reading it this summer. I was craving some of Jennifer's writing style and I am loving it so far! I'm probably going to be finishing this novel later tonight.

If I have enough time this weekend, I am going to pick up The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh. I started reading this one early this week, but had to put it down because of my busy schedule. my junior year is killing me right now! I was about 80 or so pages in, and what I read I really enjoyed. The story completely drew me in and I hope I can finish it soon.

As for what's after, I don't really know. My AP English class is going to start reading The Glass Castle, so I'll be doing that as well. I'm in the mood for something light and fun, so who knows? I might continue on with the Dark Elements series or a contemporary.

Currently Reading and TBR!

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni and today I'm going to be talking about what I am currently reading and what I am about to in the next week or so!

As of right now, I am between books. I just finished Jesse's Girl by Miranda Kenneally. I really enjoyed it; the novel was a fun, quick, read. My review of the novel will be up soon! I recently received an upcoming regency novel coming out by Bree Wolf. Titled Forgotten & Remembered, I am aiming to end this before the month is over! I have an excellent relationship with Bree and I know I won't be disappointed. While I just started it, Wolf's writing as already drawn me in! You should definitely check Bree out!

Once I finish that, I'm not sure what to read. I just recently stopped by my local library and picked up several books that I'm seriously looking forward to! At the library I picked up The Winner's Crime, The Wrath and the Dawn, and Wild Cards. Since I just finished a YA contemporary and I am reading a regency romance, I'm thinking of picking up either The Winner's Curse or The Wrath & The Dawn. I've been dying to read Rutkoski's sequel to The Winner's Curse, but I hope I won't be disappointed. The first novel left my heard shattered in glass pieces on the ground, and this one will proabably torture me so much that the glass will become grains of sand. I know it's going to happen, but I don't think I'll ever be prepared for the hearbreak I am going to have while reading it. Kestrel and Arin better have their happy ending by the conclusion to the series or I might hurt someone.


On the other hand, I have heard amazing things of Renee Ahdieh's debut novel. Plus, she went to the college that I hope to attend, UNC Chapel Hill, because of it's amazing English program.

Currently Reading #2!

Hey guys! Welcome back to Ready, Set, Read! Today I'll be talking about what I'm reading right now. I'm actually reading two different novels and a short story collection.

I'm about 70% done with The Journey of the Marked by Rebecca P. McCray. I'm actually struggling to finish this just because I still haven't connected with the characters. The plot is really interesting, I just can't get into it for some reason. I'm also reading Deception by C.J. Redwine. This is the second book in a trilogy, and I am loving it so far. Deception follows two main characters, Rachel and Logan and their fight against the leader of the corrupt city-state they live in. The second book is even more high stakes than the first book and it is amazing so far. Defiance is the second book in a trilogy. What I really like about this book is that it doesn't seem like a bridge to the third book, like much books fall to when its the second in a series. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a dystopia that is a bit different. Instead of being ultra futuristic, the future governments in these books have reverted back in time when city-states were the most powerful places to be.You can find the goodreads page here. I started reading this around the same time I was reading Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which I just finished yesterday. Opal is the third book in the Lux series. I did really enjoy reading it, but I'm not going to write a review just because my thoughts are about the same as my views about Onyx. Last but certainly not least, I'm reading The Future Collection, which is a compilation of short stories by Beth Revis. Though I've only read three so far, they are really good. I keep on thinking about them long after I've read them. All of these take place in the future, and all are interesting. While they can be a bit confusing at first, you get the gist once you get into the story.  So far the first three that I have read are darker than I anticipated them to be, but I was blown away by each and every one of them. If you liked Beth Revis' Across the Universe trilogy, for sure check this out. I bought this on my nook for around 2.99, and it is definitely worth it. Currently Reading and TBR

 Right now I am reading Every Last Promise, a dark contemporary dealing with abuse, by Kristin Halbrook. However, I'm really enjoying what I'm reading. This is my first novel of hers and I haven't heard that much about it. The plot focuses on former popular girl Kayla and her return to school after a fateful spring night.  It's mystery-esque because as a reader, you don't know what happened to Kayla that made her leave town for the summer. It's told in two point of views: Spring and Fall. I'm really looking forward to how the story is going to progress and when the two timelines make sense in how they're related. So far, I am really enjoying this book and would not be surprised if this made it onto my 2015 favorites shelf. Halbrook has also written two other novels, Nobody But Us and Surfacing. If the story continues on as it is, I will definitely be recommending this and checking out her other books. Relatively short with 288 pages, I'm sure I will fly through this!

As for what books I'll be reading the next couple days, I'm planning on both A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and Fairest by Marissa Meyer. Both are installments in a fantasy series, but that is where the similarities end. Known as ACOTAR, A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first book in the new fantasy series by Sarah J. Maas. Fairest is the fourth book in Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles, which is ending later this year with Winter. I'm really looking foward to both. I am very much looking foward to these books due to all the hype surrounding them! Both of these novels have more than a 4.0 rating on Goodreads, so I'm really excited.  Hopefully they won't disappoint! After these two, I don't really know what to read next. I have The Replaced by Kimberly Derting, The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski, and Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins. That's what I'm planning on reading for the next week!
