The Book Sacrifice Tag!

I was tagged by Lauren @ Always Me for the Book Sacrifice Tag! Thanks so much, Lauren! Here is her post. This is actually one of my favorite tags I've seen around the blogosphere; I'm so excited to do this!

1. An Over-Hyped Book

Situation: You’re in a store when the zombie apocalypse hits. The military informs everyone that over-hyped books are the zombies only weakness. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you disliked do you start chucking at the zombies?

I remember being so confused why people loved Looking for Alaska when I read it two years ago. I hated the characters, and the book as a whole was lackluster for me.

2. A Sequel

Situation: A torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?

Shadow of the Mark was all over the place. It had a completely different feel than first book and went in a direction that made no sense whatsoever. This book deserves the torrential downpour.

3. A Classic

Situation: You’re in English class and your professor raves about a Classic that “transcends time”. If given the opportunity to travel back in time, which Classic would you try to stop from ever publishing?

Sorry guys! I don't have an answer for this. I haven't HATED any of the classics I've read so far. We'll see if I can say the same this time next year, though!

4. A Least Favorite Book

Situation: Apparently global warming = suddenly frozen wasteland. Your only hope of survival for warmth is to burn a book. Which book will you not regret lighting?

The Fill in Boyfriend annoyed me to no end. I know it is well loved, but it didn't appeal to me at all. I found the character so immature and her decision making skills are horrendous.

I TAG....

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!

Happy Reading!

  1. Yes yes yes to "Looking for Alaska"! I hate that book so much. I literally do not understand why so many people love it. Everything about it annoyed me.

    1. God, yes! Like all the characters were forced hipster and I feel like John Green tried WAY to hard to make believable college students.

  2. Your complaint about the West book, is one that always gets me too. I will probably try this some day so we'll see what I think then. Thanks for the shout out and I'm glad you enjoyed doing this tag!

    1. I hope you like it more than I did, Lauren! It is very well loved and I am in the minority for this one. :) And of course! Thanks for tagging me!

  3. I see where you're coming from when you say Looking for Alaska was lackluster for you. I remember reading it a while back and I was kind of thrown by the organization but it made me cry and that's generally good example of an emotionally touching book for me!

Thanks for the tag, Genni! I'm excited to answer these questions!

    1. The set up of it threw me off, but I can see why John Green did it. While I can see how people would get emotional, I just didn't care. I don't mean to offend but I just couldn't connect. XD

You're welcome, Laura! I'm looking forward to your answers. :)

  4. Thank you for the tag! This is really interesting! I don't think I've actually read any of these? And maybe I'm hesitant to now. XD I like the tag gives you situations to work with. Great post!

    1. Of course, Ashley! I'm in the majority, especially for Looking for Alaska and the Fill in Boyfriend! That is one of my favorite parts of the tag, too! Thanks Ashley. :D
