Waiting on Wednesday #60

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog! I'm Genni, and today I'll be participating in Waiting on Wednesday, and meme originally created by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. Jill hasn't been active for a while, so Tressa @ Wishful Endings has adopted it! If you see posts by the name of "Can't Wait Wednesday," it's the same thing!

The book I'm looking forward to this week is Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre!

Petty criminal Zara Cole has a painful past that’s made her stronger than most, which is why she chose life in New Detroit instead moving with her family to Mars. In her eyes, living inside a dome isn’t much better than a prison cell.

Still, when Zara commits a crime that has her running scared, jail might be exactly where she’s headed. Instead Zara is recruited into the Honors, an elite team of humans selected by the Leviathan—a race of sentient alien ships—to explore the outer reaches of the universe as their passengers.

Zara seizes the chance to flee Earth’s dangers, but when she meets Nadim, the alien ship she’s assigned, Zara starts to feel at home for the first time. But nothing could have prepared her for the dark, ominous truths that lurk behind the alluring glitter of starlight.

Here are some stats about the book:
Genre - YA Science Fiction
Release Date - February 13, 2018
Publisher - Katherine Tegen Books
Pages - 480

Why I'm Waiting
I am a sucker for YA science fiction, so it was no question once I saw "aliens" and "Mars" that I was going to read this. I'm all for "dark, dangerous truths" and a scrappy YA protagonist that is in over their heads! Hopefully, this book will have some good mental health representation also and not just tossed aside. Also, the title is so clever. While yes, "Honor among thieves" is a saying, it also takes on new meaning as Zara is a thief that is being initiated into an elite team named Honors.

Are you looking forward to Honor Among Thieves?
Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with another post!
Happy Reading!

    1. Honestly, it's the best combination!! I think the reason I like Illuminae and Gemina so much is because it's not just sci-fi, and it's the same for this one!
